This winter seems to go on and on and on...
I had counted on some springtime weather for Easter. Looks like we can search for easter-eggs int the snow. Frozen easter-eggs, that is.
Meanwhile I yearn for the sun, and for some warm and friendly weather. Mediterranean holidays? Or take the direct way to Florida? There must be some warm place left on this planet!

Got some snowbells in my garden. Normally they would be accompagnied by crocusses, tulips and such. This year no other plant even tried to grow yet.
Well, snowbells are survivors, that's for sure!

Do they have flower fairies? Little winged ones in green-white kirtles with tranparent wings? Wouldn't that be nice?

Or- imagine the Snow Queen, from Andersens fairy tales. Skin bluish-white, clad in white furs, a crown of icycles, hair like hoar-frost, eyes like dark blue ice.
This queen, she would be sexy, curvy, nice to look at, but too cold to cuddle with.
Would the Snow Queen have suitors? Would anyone dare?

I'm writing a hot erotic tale at the moment. It just lacks an ending. Yet. I need the woman to seduce the man. And no matter how I start, it just doesn't sound right. Yet.

So, my muse, my inspiration, where are you?

Just to give you an overall impression:
My heroine has to beat the devil. If she can't seduce him, he get's her soul. So the stakes are high. How do you seduce the great seducer himself?

Cold outside. Cozy inside. Which inspired a story.
You get a very short snippet:

Suzie looked after the huge man who just sauntered out the door. This had to be Jeff. She didn´t remember how she had gotten inside his house, but inside she was, feeling comportably warm in front of the blazing fire, and comfortably safe. Actually she had felt safest when he held her in his arms... What was she thinking? She was a married woman, and Daniel... what about Daniel? How could she have forgotten about him even for a moment?

Yeah, yeah, it's a hot love story with a menage...

As I didn't find the time to write a special Christmas story, I'll give you a snippet of a story I'm writing at the moment. Yes, I promised you. I know. Shame on me.

The dragon watched the woman. She knelt in front of the aerie´s glass front, looking into a dark bowl.
"Nothing!"
Her frustrated groan was accompanied by a scraping sound as the dragon moved his heavy body.
"I knew we should have used more virgins blood!"
"Virgins, always virgins," muttered the dragon, "why can´t you just use plain cow blood or such?" She got up and faced the dragon. Her open cloak revealed a body clad in black lace. The only spot of color besides her lips was a priceless gemstone in form of a dark red rose between her breasts. Her hood covered the upper half of her face, so that her eyes were virtually invisible. For human eyes, that is. The dragon saw fully well that she glared at him. Eyes as colorless and cold as ice. Her voice was even colder than her eyes.
"Do you want me to find the hidden treasure or not?"
"Yeah,” mumbled the dragon, “of course I want the gold, but..."
"No but. I need more virgin blood, fresh blood, and a lot of it, otherwise the spell won´t work!"
"Hrrrmmpg," grumbled the dragon and turned . "Well, I´ll go and fetch you some virgins."
"And remember not to eat then, not even partially- I need them alive!"
The dragon left the room. If the color of his tail was any indication of his mood, he was furious. The woman´s lips hinted at a smile. A very cold one.

It's the last days of NaNaWriMo - this time of the year when authors are writing like madmen, trying to create a novel in 30 days. I participated, and I won (big joy, that I can tell you!). Did write under a pseudonym, as I wrote an epic fantasy story instead of my usual erotic romances. That one was written just for fun. Kind of writers holidays. Or writers paradise. Many thanks to the NaNoWriMo-team for giving us writers this awesome opportunity!

Write a story, publish a story, write the next story, publish the next story...
A writer doesn't work on one single story at a time, normally. Most writers I know have several written works buried under staples of paper on their desks. It takes time to publish, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, sometimes years, sometimes a lifetime. Would a writer wait for being published before he writes the next story, most of us wouldn't be writing any longer.
So we do write, and most of us (me included) write more than one story at any given time. Stuck with the plot of story number one? Go and finish chapter 37 of story number two.
Let's have a look at my desk. (Virtual desk, on my computer, as I tend to write mostly there).
There are about a dozen stories which exist with their title alone.
Another dozen of which I finished a rough plot.
Two or three which are well developed.
Several short stories in various stages.
Two completed novels which still need some editing.
One story on it's way to a publisher for submission.
As far as I know from talks with my fellow authors, that's more or less typical.

At the moment I'm working on some sexy fairy tales...

I'm doing the happy-author-dance. EXtasy-books accepted another of my stories, soon to be published as an ebook, an erotic love-story between a tattoo artist and his female customer.
Yes, I know, I didn't publish anything new for some time, shame on me. But now all writing obstacles at home are gone, and I'm wiring again, all night long, if needed. Did I tell you already I love to write?
I'm one happy writer today!

I bought this book because I love to read a fantasy crime novel from time to time. And it started all right, a teenage princess run away, and the murder of a king's infant son, and Eddy LaCrosse, a veteran soldier with a dark past who works as a private investigator, starts his search.
The world-building was solid, the characters interesting, the story fast-paced. About half the book passed very enjoyably, I was about to give praise to the author and his writing.
Then he introduced a goddess. Which spoiled everything, at least to me. A goddess involved in crime? How is a mere human to compete? Predictably the goddess influenced the crime as well as the investigation and was also able to see and influence parts of the future, which robbed the story of suspense. There was no other possible outcome, she had to win.

Had the author stuck to his first idea and this goddess never existed, I would have loved the book. So it's a so-so read. Makes just two stars out of five this time.
